The exports of the nation in rupee time period witnessed a rise of 35.52 per cent in the course of the first ten months of the present fiscal 12 months as in comparison with the corresponding interval of final 12 months, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
In accordance with PBS provisional figures, exports throughout July–April (2021 – 2022) have been recorded at Rs. 4,553,272 million as towards Rs3,359,742 million in the course of the corresponding interval of final 12 months displaying a rise of 35.52%, based on provisional knowledge launched by PBS.
In the meantime, on year-on-year foundation, the exports in the course of the month of April 2022 elevated by 57.44 p.c when in comparison with the exports of similar month of final 12 months. The exports in April 2020 have been recorded at Rs534,514 million in comparison with exports of Rs339,498 million throughout April, 2021.
On month-on-month foundation, the exports elevated by 7.15 when in comparison with the exports of Rs498,845 million in March 2022.

The principle commodities of exports throughout April, 2022 have been knitwear (Rs90,096 million), ready-made clothes (Rs. 64,669 million), mattress put on (Rs51,398 million), cotton fabric (Rs38,763 million), rice others (Rs32,704 million), towels (Rs19,974 million), cotton yarn (Rs18,016 million), made up articles, excluding towels & Bedwear (Rs15,277 million), rice basmati (Rs15,198 million) and surgical items & medical devices(Rs8,067 million).
However, imports throughout July–April, (2021- 2022) totaled Rs11,349,408 million as towards Rs7,178,581 million in the course of the corresponding interval of final 12 months displaying a rise of 58.10%.
Imports into Pakistan throughout April, 2022 amounted to Rs. 1,232,104 million as towards Rs1,150,786 million in March, 2022 and Rs802,443 million throughout April, 2021, displaying a rise of seven.07% over March, 2021 and of 53.54% over April, 2021.
The principle commodities of imports throughout April, 2022 have been petroleum merchandise (Rs232,765 million), petroleum crude (Rs98,427 million), Pure Fuel Liquified (Rs. 71,072 million), palm oil (Rs67,840 million), plastic supplies (Rs51,678 million), cell phone (Rs39,460 million), uncooked cotton (Rs38,533 million), iron and metal (Rs35,157 million), iron and metal scrap (Rs32,751 million) and electrical equipment and equipment (Rs28,572 million).
